ROAD TO MOHE: WITH A DIVERSION IN HANGZHOU
In the summer of 2019, four hand-bikers with physical disabilities, backed by four able-bodied support crew, set out from the Workers’ Stadium in Beijing to hand-crank their way to Mohe, the northernmost town in China, on the border with Russia.
Over 37 days, from 27 May to 2 July 2019, the team rode through Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia, with a diversion to Hangzhou for the China National Games. This is the story of their trials and tribulations along the way.
The ride raised funds for people living with spinal cord injuries (SCI) and those affected by pressure sores in China, and for the educational needs of underprivileged children in Hong Kong, in partnership with the Inspiring Hong Kong Sports Foundation.
